Hi everyone! 👋
I finally wrapped up the last of my travels for the year, and I can confidently say I’m home for a while. So here’s a quick catch up on everything that’s happened.
🙌1. On the Court
Went 1–7 in a money ball. Honestly? I came in too eager and didn’t give myself enough time to prep or get chemistry with my partner, who I never played with. My opponents weren’t doing anything I haven’t seen. Good humbling moment and a reminder to slow down and lock in.
Went to Dallas for Worlds! If you’re a fan of pickleball, I’d say make this an annual trip. It felt like a concert and anyone/everyone that does any sort of content or business about pickleball was there. An amazing time with team Volair even though our housing situation got a tad crazy (2 airbnbs and 2 hotels). Volair’s new paddle is gonna be crazyyyyy.
Finished 25 hours of pickleball for our Guiness World Record attempt at Pickleball Xscape in SoCal. Was disappointed that we didn’t finish all 40 hours, but the health of our team member comes first. The support from everyone was amazing before, during, and after.
Biggest takeaway: Sometimes things don’t go your way and that’s okay. Embrace it and keep moving along.
🌍 2. Off the Court
I’m finally home for a long stretch and I don’t have any major travel plans besides a baby shower in ATL. I did get asked to go play in PPA Hangzhou (Dec 6) the day I got back home. Would have been fun but I had to say no.
I shot a commercial for an pickleball app, unexpected but was fun and easy work to get paid.
Been focusing on getting into better shape. I gained 10lbs after my travels and am sitting at a heavy 213lb. Biggest thing for me is to consistently show up and get a workout in.
Looking forward to the slow pace and calm that being homes brings. I’ll be spending time on reflecting on what I wanna do with my life next. Some options are: stay in Boston and find a new adult job, move to SoCal for pickleball and work, Seattle for work/training to go pro in Asia, and go to Atlanta to be closer to family. I’m not rushing any decisions. I’m just letting myself reflect, breathe, and figure out what feels right.
😂 3. This Week’s Laugh
My buddies Sean, Igor, and I were supposed to go to a cool bar in Hollywood. We ended up at a rooftop pickleball court where it was down pouring. We ended up making content in the rain. Also Igor had to wear a pickle suit while holding a sign on the street corner saying “I Suck at Pickleball”. It was so funny.
💡 4. Vinny’s Pick
Blumaka Insoles: Helped me last 25 hours on my feet. Worth checking out and I’ll be using insoles moving forward.
🚀 5. What’s Next
Always grateful for you to read this and the support 🙏
Have a blessed day and catch you at the next update.
Best,
Vinny
